West Chester Film Festival was a homecoming for Director Michael Johnson. West Chester is the home of Michael's high school West Chester East.

Brothers Incorporated was honored my being chosen to open the festival. A pack crowed of love ones, family, friends, and stranger watched the hometown boy's thesis film. Many people very impressed with the actors and Collin Brink's work as Director of Photography. West Chester Film Festival was very nice, the organizers are warm and helpful and the parties are pretty happening for a small town. This is another festival we would suggest for filmmakers who make shorts.

Memphis Baby

Sorry it's been a few months since our last post our company is going through some changes and in the next few months some big news will be released, so watch out for that. But we have some great news now, last month our film played in the, On Location Memphis Film Festival. This is one of the best Film Festivals we were able to attend. The movies where great but the FOOOD was even better. The Festival made the filmmakers feel great and we want to say thank you Memphis.

Brothers Incorporated was received well in Memphis. Many people were very impressed with the actors and Collin Brink's shooting and lighting. Memphis was a great time and we suggest to travel and visit.

Tomorrow night at 7:30pm Brothers Incorporated will be playing at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood CA. If your in town please come check out the film.

Delta of Charlotte Invites Brothers Incorporated....

The Deltas of Charlotte have invited Brothers Incorporated to the Black Women Short Film Showcase. The showcase is in its 7th year, and should be their best one yet. This week 12/7/08 Brothers Incorporated was screen in the Reel Black Up Next Film Showcase in Philadelphia. This showcase was to show the Philadelphia audiences the upcoming African American Filmmakers. Brothers Incorporated ended the program with a bang. Director Michael Johnson could not be in attendance, so his mother Kimberly Croner answered the audience questions.

Brothers Incorporated will be screening in Martha's Vineyard August 8th, at 6pm - 7pm, at the HBO Short Film Competition. After the screening the HBO winners will be announced during the Saatchi&Saatchi "Nothing is Impossible: awards presentation . Please wish us luck.

"Brothers Incorporated" took home BEST SHORT at the Detroit Windsor International Film Festival. This is the second award for "Brothers Incorporated", earlier this year at the Hayti Heritage Film Festival "Brothers INC" took home BEST STUDENT FILM.

Urban Suburban Film Festival

Brothers Incorporated screened to a packed house at the Urban Suburban Film Festival in Philadelphia. Former NBC Vice President of Entertainment Peter Andrews was in attendance. "During Mr. Andrews seven year tenure, he developed programming that resulted in numerous Emmy Award winning hits and some of the network’s most memorable shows including "Little House on The Prairie", "Columbo", "Quincy", "Chips", "Police Woman", and “Emergency”. http://www.urbansuburbanfilmfestival.com/USSF_PR_PeterAndrews.pdf

After the screening Mr. Andrews had a interview in front of the "Brothers Incorporated" audience. There he mentioned that "Brothers Incorporated" was a strong example of storytelling and what independent filmmakers could achieve.

Delray Film Festival was a big hit for "Brothers Incorporated"

Brothers Incorporated was received well at the Delray Beach Film Festival. Director Michael Johnson was able to meet with actor and director Giancarlo Espostio. Mr. Espostio has acted in "Do the Right Thing", and "Mo Better Blues" just to name a few.

At Delray Mr. Esposito was screening his film "Gospel Hill" starting Danny Glover, and Angela Bassett. This was Mr. Esposito's directing debut.

"Brothers Incorporated" has just been officially selected by the Run & Shoot Filmworks Martha's Vineyard African - American Film Festival. This Festival has teamed up with HBO and the winner of Best Short, will have their film aired on HBO.

INTRO To the Brothers Incorporated Blog

This Blog is to keep all the fans, and supporters in the know with Brothers Incorporated the movie. The film was shot in the City of Brotherly Love – Philadelphia and completed this year January 2009.

Brothers Incorporated has won the prestigious Caucus Foundation Finishing Funds Grant. Please check it out http://www.caucusfoundation.org/recipients/grant_recip_fall08_johnson.html .

The film has been in the festival circuit for a few months. Brothers Incorporated was an official selection of the Hayti Heritage Film Festival in North Carolina. This festival has been in existence for 15 years, and this year Brothers Incorporated won Best Student Short. Producer Simone Hawthorne

Simone Hawthorne's official entrance into the world of filmmaking began in August 2003 when she entered her freshman year at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. Throughout her undergraduate career she was able to amass a wealth of valuable experiences in her classes, as she wrote, directed, edited, assistant directed, and produced numerous student films. However her experience was not solely limited to the classroom. In her senior year in 2007 she worked as a camera operator for live shots during the 2007 Academy Awards Red Carpet and interned at Out of the Blue Entertainment on the Sony lot. Since graduation, Simone has returned to New York City, her hometown, and has worked as a coordinator on a variety of reality television shows for MTV, CW, HGTV, TLC, and Bravo. Currently, during her downtime between shows she is focusing on the writing and development of two original feature-length screenplays.

Larry Bryant : Producer LARRY BRYANT began his journey into the arts at the University of Massachusetts where he studied acting and received a B.A. in Theatre Arts. After undergrad, Larry headed west and enrolled in the prestigious graduate film program at USC School of Cinematic Arts where he earned an M.F.A. in Film Production. During his tenure at USC, Larry produced and directed numerous short films, and was awarded the Frank Sinatra and Gene Autry Scholarships. Most recently Larry has finish writing a feature length screenplay, and has finished work as a Line Producer on the independent feature, “Ten Years Later”.

Dan Eason : In 2004 Dan attend Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA where he majored in film and video. At Drexel, Dan wrote, directed, and produced two short films shot on 16mm film, and directed the official trailer to the 2007 Philadelphia Film Festival. After graduation Dan moved to Los Angeles California where he worked in production of several reality television series, scripted TV shows, and feature length films. Dan currently works at Warner Brothers Studios in the management trainee program and as a freelance script doctor in his spare time.

Michael Johnson: Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised by a single mother who has a passion for the arts, she encouraged Michael to follow his heart and pursue his dream as a filmmaker. At Hampton University, Michael was able to travel and study in the South Pacific where he began his journey as a visual storyteller. Soon after graduating from Hampton, Michael was accepted into the prestigious University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. In his first year at USC, he wrote and directed “Jazz Singer,” which premiered at the Arizona Black Film Showcase. He has also produced the acclaimed short film “Last Exit” which was written and directed by Nicola Marsh. Michael has just completed his thesis film “Brothers Incorporated” which he shot in his hometown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. “Brothers Incorporated” received The Caucus Foundation Student Production Grant in 2008. Upon graduation from USC Michael plans to continue filmmaking as an independent producer and director.
